About The Economics Department
The department was established since the inception of the college in 1962. Mr. P.K Ray was the pioneer faculty of the department followed by Mr. B.D Basnet, Dr. D.C Roy, Dr.Gopal Chandra Mondal and Mrs.Yojna Kharga. In addition to that the department had Mr. Joynath Prasad, Mr. Arijit Rai and Ms.YadikaLimbu as Part- time faculties. Presently the department is being headed by Dr. D. C Roy. The department has two full-time sanctioned posts which are full. The department is equipped with a departmental library from which students can borrow books in addition to the central library. Each year the department organises a departmental seminar for the students with interactive sessions in the presence of students and teachers of other departments.
